GALLIPOLI

We had an early start, leaving Istanbul then travelling down to Gallipoli Peninsula. We had a great guide for Gallipoli who spent 7hours explain different aspets of the battle to us. We visited Anzac cove, the beach that the allies landed on as well as 4 different memorials for the different countries involved. We also saw trenches and got a greater appreciation of just how close together the fighting had been - as litlle as 8metres distance between the trenches in some parts.

The width of this road is the only distance that separated the Turkish and Allied trenches at this part.
